  • John Hathaway, CFA

    John Hathaway is the Chairman of Tocqueville Management Corporation, the general partner of Tocqueville Asset Management L.P.

    Mr. Hathaway joined Tocqueville in 1997. He co-manages the Tocqueville Gold Fund. In addition, he manages separate accounts with a gold equity mandate including the Falcon Gold Fund, the Falcon Gold UCITS Fund, Tocqueville Gold Amerique (FCP), a sovereign wealth fund, and various separate accounts for family offices.

    Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. Hathaway co-founded and managed Hudson Capital Advisors, followed by seven years with Oak Hall Advisors as the Chief Investment Officer. In 1976, he joined the investment advisory firm David J. Greene and Company, where he became a Partner. Mr. Hathaway began his investment career in 1970 as a research analyst with Spencer Trask & Co.

    Mr. Hathaway graduated from Harvard College in 1963 (B.A.) and from the University of Virginia Business School in 1967 (M.B.A.) He also holds the CFA designation.

  • Robert W. Kleinschmidt, CFA

    Robert W. Kleinschmidt is President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Tocqueville Asset Management L.P.

    Mr. Kleinschmidt joined Tocqueville in 1991 and manages discretionary portfolios for institutional, individual and family clients. He is the Portfolio Manager of the firm’s flagship fund, the Tocqueville Fund, and the lead manager of the Multi Cap Equity strategy. In addition, Mr. Kleinschmidt is the Chairman of the Investment Committee.

    Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. Kleinschmidt spent thirteen years with David J. Greene & Company. Prior to joining David J. Greene & Company, he spent two years at the Irving Trust Company, starting his career there in 1976. Before going to Wall Street, he taught Economics at Fordham and Adelphi Universities, and Marymount College.

    Mr. Kleinschmidt earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin (Oshkosh) and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst). From 1973 to 1976, he continued postgraduate work in Economics at Columbia University. He also holds the CFA designation.

  • Thomas O. Pandick

    Thomas O. Pandick is the Chief Compliance Officer at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. Mr. Pandick joined Tocqueville in 2004 and also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer of the Tocqueville Trust, a registered investment company.

    Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. Pandick was Vice President at Kirkbride Asset Management, Inc. for four years as Portfolio Advisor and Compliance Manager. He was previously engaged in public service for twenty-six, years serving as General Counsel to the New York State & Local Retirement Systems and Director of Investor Affairs/Corporate Governance for the New York State Common Retirement Fund.

    Mr. Pandick earned a B.S. in Accounting from Ithaca College and received his J.D. from Union College, Albany Law School.

  • Robert J. Kramer

    Robert J. Kramer is the Chief Operating Officer at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P.

    Prior to joining Tocqueville in 2005, Mr. Kramer founded Adirondack Capital Partners Inc., which specialized in providing investment banking services for small to medium sized corporate clients, from 2000 to 2005. He founded Penny Lane Partners prior to Adirondack Capital Management, a venture capital fund and SBIC, and served as Senior Managing Director from 1996 to 2005, while also working at Trautman Kramer and Co., Inc., until 1999. Mr. Kramer started Trautman Kramer and Co., Inc., in 1992. Prior to Trautman Kramer and Co., Mr. Kramer was a Partner of Sterling Grace and Co. from 1985 to 1992. He also worked at Prescott Ball and Turben from 1978 to 1985 and began his career with Merrill Lynch in 1977.

    He attended Temple University and New York University.
